What You’ll Do
Fleet Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on diesel and gas trucks, trailers, and equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues including brakes, batteries, tires, lighting systems, filters, belts, and fluids
- Service and repair small engine equipment (generators, saws, gas-powered tools)
- Coordinate with outside vendors for major repairs when needed
DOT Compliance & Inspections
- Conduct routine vehicle and trailer inspections
- Ensure compliance with DOT and safety regulations
- Maintain or obtain annual DOT inspection certification
- Identify issues before they lead to breakdowns or downtime
Equipment & Shop Support
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Communicate equipment status and repair timelines with management and field crews
- Respond quickly to urgent repair needs to minimize downtime
- Keep shop and yard clean, organized, and safe
- Maintain accountability for tools and equipment
Inventory Management
- Monitor parts and maintenance supply levels
- Request replenishment when needed
- Organize spare parts, fluids, and shop materials
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 3+ years of mechanical experience (trucks, trailers, or construction equipment)
- Preventative maintenance experience on diesel and gas vehicles
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Comfortable using tablets and digital maintenance systems
- Basic Microsoft Office 365 skills (Outlook, Excel, etc.)
- DOT inspection certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred
- Diesel truck and trailer repair experience
- Small engine repair experience
- Welding/fabrication skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, bending, kneeling, and climbing
- Work in both shop and outdoor environments
- Exposure to noise, dust, grease, and varying weather conditions
